• Members meet regularly to offer each other much needed practical and  social support
• Educate their members about the virus
• Look after each other when sick or dying
• Care for their children and orphans
• Develop income generating projects like sewing and crocheting articles for sale
• Give health education talks for many organisations who particularly value
  the input of people who can say “I am HIV positive”
• Provide home based care for local people with Aids who need some home  support  and nursing
• Do pre- and post- HIV test counselling at the local hospital
• Help set up and support other self help groups throughout the province
