Schools’ Programme - Global Citizenship
Simon Banda has been leading Sunduza Dance Theatre since 1985. An outstanding vocalist, choreographer and composer. He has also proved to be an exceptional teacher providing an incredible diversity of workshops for everyone from young children through to adults. He has held workshops with the Kusanganisa Festival of Zimbabwe Arts iat SOAS in London with and with the Urban Dance Theatre and numerous educational centres. He has worked with the Leeds University Centre for African Studies as part of the Performing Africa conference in 2004.
Mandla Sibanda, who helped to found Sunduza Dance Theatre in Bulawayo Zimbabwe is on tour of Yorkshire, Derbyshire schools. he works across all Key Stage groups (KS1 to KS4) and with older students on Btec, AS level and 'A' level courses. He regularly leads SOSA-XA! Sounds of Southern Africa which he helped to form with Simon Banda He is offering a diverse arts programme on a range of issues related to Zimbabwe and Southern Africa.
