Simon Banda is the youngest member of the Banda family who established Sunduza from school in 1985. Then known as the High Stars Sunduza Boys they worked from Pumula in Bulawayo. Their first tour to Harare was in 1990 after a successful project at the UNESCO ACTPA workshop in Bulawayo. Here they teamed up with Stephen Chifunyise then permanent secretary of culture in the Ministry of Education & Culture. Having been introduced to their new producer Philip Weiss they then began working on a first CD, and started touring internationally from 1992 thereafter creating many new stage productions.
